I wonder if Stark County is running a "greatest hits" underground video-clips site. Because the original video would be right at home in a certain "niche porn" area.
How much you want to bet that a lot of people that should NEVER have had copies of these various tapes did? Would you bet money they weren't the centerpiece of parties, maybe even with political figures in attendance? Or maybe it's just a private file-sharing network. Sure would be interesting, running mug shots against videoclips of that type found on the internet with some of those high powered tools Ashcroft bought to fight child porn.
I wonder what patterns one might find, correlating arrests, strip-searches and outcomes with the physical appearance of the detainees? Are smelly old drunks routinely subjected to "suicide prevention routines," or is it just women that the officer wants to see naked? Hm. They have female deputies too. So I wonder if any pretty boys get the same treatment? And of course, where do those videos end up?
WKYC reports that since the release of the now-notorious Hope Steffey ’strip search’ video, 4 more Stark County, Ohio women, including Valentina Dyshko of North Canton, have come forward alleging that they were forced to remove their clothing when detained at the Stark County Jail...BL further reports in a subsequent article that the State Attorney General will be looking into the entire matter.
Seems like Tim Swanson, Stark County Sheriff strkshrf@raex.com may be trying to cover his ass with paper. Anyone know when or if he's up for re-election, and who might be running against him? Aside from Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS, of course.Larry Shields of the Salem News reports that Stark County Sheriff Tim Swanson has officially requested that Ohio Attorney General Mark Dan “review all the circumstances surrounding the arrest and incarceration of Hope Steffey in October of 2006,” a vicious incident labelled “way out of line” by Cuyahoga county Sheriff Gerald McFaul (h/t ThePoliticalCat).
Additionally, Muriel Kane of The Raw Story reports that video footage taken prior to the now-infamous strip search tape may exist, noting that “jailhouse surveillance cameras show a deputy with a handheld camera filming Steffey being escorted to her cell.”
Kane also suggests that dashboard video of the arrest, originally believed to be non-existent because the arresting officer claimed the camera was off, may not have been disclosed to Steffey’s lawyers.

An allegation of just this happening was posted on one of the stories in the paper.
Someone posted they had a very close friend, that they had known for years, and that he had finally told him that these were brought to some 'cop parties'.
I am not saying anything myself, just posting what someone else had put up.
Take it for what its worth.
I can't link to the story or comments, because the CantonRep has changed, and almost all of its Hope Steffey story links has been broken.
I requested they fix them last year, but nothing so far.

Ok here’s a video you won't see on the news.
Here’s the cops taking Steffey to the cell to strip her naked. This shows what was going on outside in the hallway.
The quality of the video is pretty bad. It will seem to 'skip' frames for quite a while in some places, but then take a bunch in a row at other times. Why it does this, I don't know.
All the cameras at the sheriff's dept seem to be in bad shape and "malfunction" right at critical moments.
I had to cut this video in half, it was 20 minutes long, from the time they took her in to the time they left the hall in front of her cell. So I cut off the front of it when they took her in.
WHY does it take 20 minutes outside the hall to show a "suicide prevention" that only took 4 min?
The building camera, seems to skip a lot of frames, so you'd think it would be a shorter video.
But as you can see after they have closed up the cell after assaulting her, they immediately open her cell again, and some of them enter it. The rest all stand around and have a good laugh, so this will add some more time to the video.
As you can see from the video the big dufass in the white shirt, he stays at the door to the cell looking in all the time Steffey was being assaulted, and then he stays back around her cell afterwards, looking in....GEE, I wonder WHY?
Then afterwards he's joined by another officer who didn't get a chance to help strip Steffey and he starts walking down to have a look too.

BUT THEN the camera seems to malfunction, and the next thing you see is a empty hall. BUT only ONE second has passed on the time marks!
WOW, .....MORE "missing" video from Stark County Sheriff's Dept.
Going through the Hope Steffey evidence I found that videos are ENCOURAGED to be used for "training".
I got off the phone with Vivianne Whalen Duffrin, the Human Resources person at the Sheriff's I asked about the use of the videos for "training". I asked if videos like THIS would be used. She said that 'use of force' videos would be used for "training".
But she 'thought' that this one hadn't been used.
I asked for a copy of the sign-out sheet for this video, she said she wouldn't give that out, but then denied that there was a sign-out sheet!!
Sure first you won't give it out, and then it doesn't even exist.

So your theory about the sheriff's porn ring seems to be right on the money.
Then I asked about WHO & WHEN it was determined that Steffey was not on her period. (Women on their period can NOT be stripped completely naked by the sheriff's rules.)
She then tried to turn this around on me, like I was the pervert for asking about her.
I finally got fed up and said I am starting to get pissed when you are trying to turn this around on me, when it's YOUR people that are doing this.
She said "well your the one asking about her menstrual cycle".
I said I am NOT asking about her menstrual cycle, I am asking WHO determined this and WHEN.
She said she didn't know.
I said you were right in the middle of this investigation with the BCI & the FBI on a case that went nation wide, but you don't know??
She claimed she did not know.
I said it's part of your policy, why wouldn't you discuss it!?!?
She then wanted to 'get back to work' and claimed that I just wanted to 'argue points'.
I said I am NOT arguing points, I am trying to get information.
So she asked what I wanted.
I said well so far you haven't given me anything!
Oh my, my my. I do wonder what other gems may lurk in their video vaults.
Seems like this would be a good way of winning an election - but then again, the folks who vote seriously in sheriff's races seem to be biased a bit in favour of this sort of thing.
@Bob I don't know about elections, but sharing them with the state & feds, seems to help out when the come to "investigate" your abuses of inmates.
That's the only reason I can see why the state & fed investigators would ignore the OVERWHELMING evidence to the sheriff dept's crimes.
This whole thing stinks to high heaven!
