More Health Care Myths [Mark Hemingway]

Why do Democrats push preventative health care as a cost savings measure at every turn? If you want to save the healthcare system money, drop dead of a heart attack at 50. Living to 88 on the other hand — that's expensive.

A simplistic observation that while being only superficially true, manages to advance the proposition that being a complete bastard is a moral virtue without any practical utility to anyone with genuine human concerns. In other words, definitively Neoconservative.

I expect far higher standards of such an august name as held by the venerable National Review. Finding this was rather like encountering a small turd floating in the punchbowl - two mugs past the point of no return.
