Reminds me of home, Saint Joseph, Missouri (pop. app. 74,000). Our Police Dept. recently got tasers. In the first thirty days they had them nine people were tased. Their public relations officer said if you just do as your told when being arrested this won't happen. That attitude seems to be pretty wide spread.

My first thought was, amazingly enough, how the hell did they find a public relations officer stupid enough to say that in public.
Then I realized this is the person that other cops don't trust with a weapon, but who isn't actually in a position to get them fired.
But yeah, every time a tazing happens anywhere, the assumption is, the tazee deserved it.
