The Price of McCain

t r u t h o u t | Is McCain Another George W. Bush?: "It occurs to me that John McCain is as intellectually shallow as our current president."

An interesting point. Something even more troubling occurs to me - that both his major donors and his rank and file supporters see this as a feature.

Obama's comment; "It's as if they were proud of being ignorant" needs to be pumped up a bit. There's no "as if" about it. They ARE proud of being ignorant, they conflate willful stupidity with patriotism and they are quite willing to destroy, by whatever means necessary, anything or anyone that tends to illustrate their wrong-headedness.

Two cities filled with living, breathing counter-examples have been struck so far, punished quite deliberately for their "godless libralism" following what may or may not have been contrived disasters.

That's the problem here, folks, it should be absolutely inconceivable that our government would or could consider or permit hostile action against it's citizens. It is not only no longer a fringe belief that they could or might contemplate it, it's become prudent to assume that at the very least they will be useless in a crisis, either due to manifest incompetence or direct willful action.

You can bet that if McCain is selected and placed in a position he cannot earn and is clearly morally or mentally unqualified for, it is statistically likely that it will lead to the loss of at least one more city via neglect or direct action.

Remember, considering everything that has gone on, if the right wing can nonetheless place McCain in power, they will know they can get away with anything.

They will be wrong, but the cost of proving it to them will be very, very high.
